His speech wasn't just masterful and inspiring, it was also gutsy and aggressive. Tying McCain to Bush, identifying the wedge issues, taking on the patriotism nonsense, reminding us that Democrats can be strong and smart on defense (Roosevelt, Kennedy), etc., etc.
